Throat Chakra

The throat chakra is the fifth chakra and is all about communication, speaking out, standing up for yourself, and being honest. The colour blue represents this chakra.


If this chakra is blocked or unbalanced, you may notice you struggle with speaking out, whether speaking at an interview, on stage, or just speaking up for yourself in general, resulting in missed opportunities, anxiety, and lack of self-belief.


The throat chakra comes down to our emotions. We may be shy, nervous, or anxious when speaking out. This could be from experiences with people as a child; strict schools or teachers may have made us feel intimidated, parents and family members even. If you are of an older generation, you would have most likely been told to only 'speak when spoken to,' creating an anxious feeling you may still carry around today without even realising.



Thankfully we no longer have to feel this way. Working on this area will encourage us to speak out more, not just to family, friends, and the world but to ourselves. If something is bothering us, we can work on the throat chakra, building up the confidence to confront people who may not be as nice to us as they should be, working on that self-belief, and showing we can and will stand up for ourselves when we need to, and most importantly have the confidence to go for that amazing job opportunity we thought was too good for us. Life and its opportunities are all about how we communicate, not just vocally but through appearance too. The only way to achieve this is to be true to ourselves. Remember never to imitate anyone else, don't fall for what we see on TV and in magazines. Wear what YOU want to wear, be who YOU want to be, don't let anyone ever hold you back from your dreams, or achieving them, no matter how big or small they may be.

Stretches throat muscles. Focus on the throat chakra whilst facing the sky ask for encouragement and guidance.

Blue Lace Agate, Lapis Lazuli, Angelite, Aquamarine.


Essential oils to put in an oil burner for the home:

Frankincense, Geranium, Jasmine, Sage
