Crown Chakra

Updated: May 27, 2021

The crown chakra is the seventh of the seven chakras and the third of the three spiritual chakras. The crown chakra is located at the top center of your head and associated with the colour violet.

All the chakra locations are positioned beautifully, from the root to the crown, all making perfect sense of why and how they are placed. The crown chakra is no exception. Linked to the divine, spirituality, and universal knowledge, it, of course, makes sense for this chakra to be linked to the top of your head, influencing the brain and nervous system; you will certainly be aware when this chakra is blocked or unbalanced.

If you have been following the weekly chakra blogs and working on each chakra, you will have noticed a heightened improvement in your spirituality. Mostly through meditation, you may have experienced unusual thoughts, feeling lighter, various sensations, or viewed certain visions, from seeing colours, pictures, or people/guides. You may have come to understand the body a little better, particularly your emotions, how they can control us if we do not deal with them properly, blocking us from moving forward, feeling content, even down to our relationships and the people we enter into our lives. Your faith and spiritual awareness may have increased; you may now notice signs and symbols you previously may never have taken notice of before. Your eyes will have opened, noticing the world around us, the beauty, and the mysteries.

When the crown chakra is blocked, you are less likely to experience these things. You may find life hard to comprehend, not understanding it, poo-pooing topics because you don't believe in them, the conclusion a load of 'mumbo jumbo.' I have lost count of the number of people I have met throughout my life who have thought me 'weird' or 'strange' because of my beliefs and outlook on life. I have always been extremely open-minded. Although I was brought up a Catholic, I've always found other religions, cultures, and their outlook on life fascinating. Just because I was brought up a certain way, which is to say my way is correct? We come into contact with so many different people, cultures, and beliefs throughout our lives. It would be an absolute travesty not to learn something from them, even those who enter it very briefly.

The world is a mysterious place. Science isn't always accurate in answering the many questions we have. Therefore, so many questions remain unanswered, yet if you notice, everyone has an opinion. A perfect example, currently researching ancient Egypt, Stonehenge, and Easter Island and how the stones (some as big a 100 ton EACH) were placed there. Science would say humans with lumps of wood made into pully cranes, with rocks used to hammer and chisel the beautifully carved inscriptions, yet many scientists say this is almost impossible. Other theories claiming giants, mythological gods, and other beings is the only possible explanation, yet which theory is correct? Nobody truly knows, which is why none of these theories can be disregarded or laughed at. I believe remaining open-minded will get you much further in life than believing what we are told and taught at school or through religion to be the only truth. Life is one big mystery, sure aren't we currently living through one at this present time?

Remaining a closed book won't get us very far in life. If this year has shown us anything, it is to have faith, believe, love, have hope, be open-minded, and remain optimistic. Even just a little will help us through the toughest of times. I can only imagine the number of people who claim not to be religious yet have prayed to something or someone this year in the hope of protecting a loved one or hoping to see an end to all of this, proving we are all indeed spiritual. We are one of the same; nobody is right or wrong for their beliefs. We are all blessed with an incredible soul, and it is down to us how we use and experience it. We are all oneness of the universe, the universe so many of us know so little about, but maybe now is the time to explore it before life goes back to the hustle and bustle we once experienced.

How can one achieve this? Meditate. Focus on your chakras, your emotions, your blockages, your dreams, your self-love, and your inspirations. Open your mind, open your eyes, open your heart to what life is all about. You may not find the answers you're looking for; in fact, you may realise you don't actually need any answers after all, other than understanding yourself, your soul, and your true self.
