Selenite Crystal

Updated: Feb 25

It is hard to choose a favourite crystal as they are all so beautiful and unique; however, selenite is incredibly special. It is a crystal to observe to see its magic.

Linked to the moon, selenite was named after Selene, the Greek Goddess of the moon. The sheer beauty and the light the crystal radiated made the Ancient Greeks believe that Selene had been trapped inside, with many believing the moon's magic and energy increased the power of the divine feminine and certain energy.

The Knossos Palace was one of the world's most famous archaeological sites. Located on Kephala Hill on the Island of Crete, the ruler King Minos constructed the walls of his sacred palace from selenite. When the moon's light flooded the walls, it would radiate a heavenly glow.

It is a beautiful stone for cleansing and purifying. Selenite is the crystal that disperses negative energy and increases peace, clarity, forgiveness, love, and positive thoughts.

Perfect for increasing spiritual awareness and meditating, mainly when working with the crown chakra, allowing us to access higher consciousness and increase our psychic development.

Selenite also allows us to access past lives as well as future lives. Working with this stone defuses confusion, allowing deep inner peace. Used in work environments and as a cleanser for other crystals when placed beside pieces of selenite or inside selenite bowls.
