Pick a Card (Timeless)

Today's cards are from The Wild Unkown - Archetypes by Kim Krans. Below you will see a picture showing three cards 1, 2 & 3 (left to right). Close your eyes, tune in, and see which card you are drawn to. I have put crystals below each card as you may be drawn to a particular crystal instead. Scroll down to the number and read the message that is meant to find you.

Card 1 - Pink Adventurine

Card 2 - Amethyst

Card 3 - Red Jasper

Card 1

The Beginning, The Origin, The Pearl

Beginnings come in many forms. They are not always a beautiful seed placed intentionally in nourishing soil. Origin stories (like any birth story) are complex, surprising, multilayered, and usually reveal a central image or detail that represents the fully formed being. Simply stated, the end is present in the beginning; or the entire oak tree resides within the acorn. Whether you follow this imaginal theory or not, know that when this card appears, there is potent generative energy all around. It stirs your very insides and usually results in an antsy, impatient feeling. Pay particular attention to what agitates you, as it is a sure sign of growth to come. You are bumping up against a growth edge. It is from the grit that the pearl eventually comes to be.

When Light: generative, fertile, germinating, building

When Dark: festering, stewing, dormant

Go Deeper: James Hillman's acorn theory in "The Soul's Code"

**The true seed is elusive. If we follow any story towards its origin, it spirals farther and farther back in time. In this way, we are always the seed and always the fruit it bears.

**One of the alchemists' favourite images was the pearl. The irritant, over time, becomes the treasure. What is your grit?

Card 2

The Spirit, The Ancestor,

The Eternal

The unseen is just as it sounds. We cannot see it, yet it sees us - watching and waiting with wisdom both kind and instructive. We feel this presence, sense it, intuit it, and then doubt its existence, though it rallies our attention time and time again. The energy of The Unseen may come in many forms - a compelling dream, a sudden insight, a clear voice, a vision or message from a loved one who has passed to the other side. It is natural to fear these communications, as they challenge our perception of what is real. When eternal is present. The doorway between worlds is ajar. Listen. The sounds may seem as though they come from a distant land, but they call from your innermost chambers.

When Light: clairvoyant guidance, whispers of wisdom

When Dark: dark looming energy, unwillingness to forgive

Go Deeper: King Hamlet, the three fates, "The Shining"

** Guidance comes in many forms. Don't expect it to be glittery or comfortable. The spirit world speaks the truth - sometimes it soothes and sometimes it burns.

** Being graced by the unseen is a gift. Treat it kindly. Allow yourself to be seen by eternal eyes.

Card 3

The Gift, The Present, The Sacrifice

Unlike many of the other cards in the deck, The Offering carries a clear - as - day message and a call to action. As you may have guessed, it is time for something to be given - and given up - for the sake of the bigger picture. If nothing comes to mind immediately (though it's likely it will), take time in meditation to consider what must be offered and who is to receive it. It's likely you'll feel attachment and hesitancy. You'll make excuses. But recognise the link between the word "sacrifice" and the word "sacred". One leads to the other. When we offer up something to the greater good, we lighten our load and become more able to serve. Imagine for a moment if you were to offer your whole self, unconditionally, to the world. For now, start small.

When Light: generosity, donation, volunteering

When Dark: giving with expectations, keeping track

Go Deeper: Odin's sacrifice of his eye in Norse mythology.

** Once a week, Gandhi gave up speaking for a day, offering himself divine silence.

The offering can come in all shapes and sizes.

** If there is a gift you've been thinking of giving someone special, now is the time.
